The Slow One Now Will Later Be Fast

Oh, my little blog! It's been quite a while.

Since we last talked I have conquered many a city, seen a real life Time Portal, and developed a new love for soft boiled eggs.

I have been going back and forth on whether or not I should try to write some sort of Travelblogue, but I am guessing that after I finally sort through all of my pictures and upload them to facebook, I might be spent. Or I might start missing it so much that I am forced to write all about it to fill the empty space inside. Anything could happen, I guess.

Now I am just trying to figure out which direction my life should take from here, because I am tired of going in this boring straight line. I'm just praying that I make smart choices and end up somewhere that I am really going to enjoy. And that some things will open up for me. At least now I know what it is like to feel extremely under-valued in a work position. Maybe so that I will never stand for it again.

Times they are a-changin, I think.

And I really need to figure out how to find a guy like this.

Thank God It's Friday, For Real.

I mean...for REAL.

I really, really, really, really don't feel like working tomorrow!

Went to Wal-Mart tonight with my mama and bought all kinds of toiletries and cosmetic thingys for the trip. It was fun. It's really not easy to find 35 mm film these days! And when you do find it...they have like one box. I found some at Target for a good price but....one box! Ugh. But the sales guy chatted me up. He was kinda cute. Good thing my mom wasnt with me...that's always a bit awkward. Makes me think of that guy in the Toy Store. He seemed so awesome and he had long Rohirric hair and he was going on about watching Disney movies with a glass of wine.....just taaaaalkin to me and my mom for like tweeeeenty minutes. I shoulda jumped on that. Tried to stalk him...but he disappeared. I'll never forget that Toy Store guy.

Wow. Talk about rabbit trails.

Get to see my bff tomorrow...!
And I hope she knows that I have a lot of kid food in my freezer, so we will be feasting like 12 year olds. Get ready!

La Di Da

So I finally got all of my stuff out of Lynn's house today and brought Duncan to the vet! I'm done...yipeee!! But I left a bunch of stuff in her freezer...oopsies. Oh well...if I don't get it back...she can toss it.

I watched The Descendants while I was cleaning up. It was very good. Overall I really, really enjoyed it. The only thing that bothered me was the way that it was filmed. It was really weird. It almost looked like a TV or Lifetime movie at certain points or a home movie without the shaky hands. I dunno. I wasn't really a huge fan of that...but it didn't really take away from the movie itself so I didn't mind all that much. Sort of a strange, dysfunctional story...but you get hooked into it and it just works. And the acting was superb. Even by the actors who were only in it for a few scenes. I thought Judy Greer was phenomenal and she was only in the movie for like 15 minutes total.

Most beautiful thing in the movie: George Clooney's silvery hair

Most surprising thing in the movie: Matthew Lillard! Where the heck has that guy been??!

So, Steph....I give this one 4.5 out of 5 stakes.

My week with movies

Looks like this week is gonna be filled with packing, sleeping, and watching movies. Since I looked at the movie rental thing in Mathernes, at least! I can catch up on all the oscar movies I missed!

I watched My Week with Marilyn tonight. It was alright. The acting in it was very believable...but it seemed to just kind of lull along. There were several delightful moments, but it just didn't quite capture me. I'm not the biggest Marilyn Monroe fan, but Michelle Williams did a pretty good job with it, or so I thought. Man, was she and emotional wreck, though! And Emma Watson was only in it for like 2 seconds... :(
Anyway...I think I would give it about 3 out of 5 stakes.

Coming this week, hopefully...The Descendants and Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (American version) and......CABIN IN THE WOODS!!!!!! Holy Crap, I can't believe it's finally coming out!

On a different note...I was very sad to say goodbye to my big sister and family :(
I really do miss them and all their craziness! Here's to hoping we can all go on a cruise together one day and that I can go visit them soon!

Fruit Fly

I think it is safe to say that I would rather be really, really, really, ridiculously not busy than be really, really, really, ridiculously busy.
It has been SO awesome having family and friends in town the past couple of weeks...but, hole-ey cow! I am so incredibly exhausted! And the sad thing is....I don't think I'm gonna have a day of rest before I leave for Europe!!!

All Things Titanic

I finally got to see Titanic on the big screen today....after 15 YEARS. That, in itself, just blows my mind. And it was so amazing. I'm sorry, but I will just always love this movie so so very much. I love everything about it and I can't help but cry when I see a scan of all of Rose's pictures of her doing all the things she talked to Jack about and more! For some reason that's when the tears just start-a-comin! And then when she walks into the room and all of the people who died...and then Jack...and...oh. It's just too much! Definitely my favorite part of the movie. But, seriously, it was just as enchanting as the first day that I saw it. Just as funny. Just as heartbreaking. Just as beautiful. Just as perfect :)

And I will always think Kate Winslet is just the most beautiful in it! She is gorgeous. And I'm still so glad that they picked a normal-sized, stunning lady to play that part. And I could never forget her....wardrobe!

Wow....so. It's like impossible to find decent pictures of her in my favorite dresses. Here is one that is okay.

 

This one kinda sucks...but it is hands down my favorite dress in the movie!

And I really just don't have the energy to find more. One day I will.
